Catch yourself making excuses.  Listen to the defenses and explanations.  Does the other need to know, or do you simply need to have them know why you think you are right?  Justify, justify, justify all you like, but in the end, what the other ego wants to hear is, “I’m sorry.  You are right.”  That is how egos operate.

The next time you find yourself with a strong need to explain and justify your actions when no one has asked you for such an explanation, ask yourself why.  Learn whatever lesson is inherent in the situation and move on … to peace.
