“But I have an image to protect!” you say. “It goes with being a lawyer, or a doctor, or a teacher, or a mother, or a …” You get the picture. What picture do you see when you look in the mirror? That is an image that conjures up great emotions based on the instantaneous thoughts that arise, all engendered by belief systems. Now step close, very close to that mirror so that all you see are the eyes. Look directly and deeply into those eyes and what do you see now?
Ask what lies beyond those eyes, “Who is protecting an image and why?”
That is all.
Just gaze.
The ego projects the image for protection. Spirit projects our soul for love. One day I hope to gaze into that mirror and see the being of light that knows no fear or worry, only peace, love, patience and connection.
